One of the most depressing thing about NP is that most courses have a hidden grade that is not reflected in your results. This particular grading apparently happens for all your modules that you will take during your 3 miserable years in NP. This portion of your grading is called “Kissing Ass”.
The problem with this is that you don’t really have to have much talent to get to the top of your academic level. You just have to really like the taste of shit. The more shit you have smeared all over your lips, the better your chances of attaining that wonderful AD that its so coveted by most people.
Granted, not all kissing of ass is unpleasant, but majority of Ngee Ann lecturers are old fogeys that have asses that taste as though its back in the 80s. Still this is not saying that this is everyone, its just that majority of the people here like to have their asses cleaned regularly.
So if you want to study here and you don’t think you have much talent, you just need to kiss lots of ass. If you have talent but are unwilling to kiss ass, you might not get fantastic grades but you’ll definitely pass. So its entirely up to you, if you want to be yourself, you better be talented. If you want to kiss ass… well, kiss away.
face it, ass kissing is everywhere. either you face it or fall to it. this is the real world. kids.

wake up, dude. it happens to people everywhere. and its not right to generalize anyway. not all lecturers are like that. i came out of ngee ann and never had problems with biased lecturers. in fact, there are more biased instructors at university level!

anon: I also had great lecturers that were not about kissing ass. who were more interested to impart knowledge. But the point of this article is to state the facts not to make it seem as though it was something that should surprise people when they come into the school.

should it surprise anyone that there are going to be biased instructors everywhere they got? its not just NP, mind u. probably only people who are naive and lead too sheltered lives will be.
its not a factual article in the first place since your accusations are not backed by any evidence.
the system is about kissing ass? wake up dude. the whole world is like that. its nothing wrong at all, in fact. it’s just psychology – everyone loves to be flattered and flattery can often get people in good books with those who are in power.

That’s totally true hun. No matter how much talent you have and the hours you put in staying overnight at the newsroom etc. you still won’t get an A unless if you suck up to the fucking lecturers. Reality bites.
